Metrail is proud to be shortlisted as a finalist in the Product of the Year category at the Highways Awards 2025 for our innovative work on the M180 Resurfacing Scheme using Geo Plus Resin.
The award recognises outstanding contributions to the highways sector, and our entry highlights how Geo Plus Resin has transformed traditional approaches to concrete bay replacement. Developed to address long-standing challenges in road maintenance, the resin injection method delivered significant time, cost, and environmental savings.
The M180 project was completed in just four months – compared to 12 months using conventional methods – and delivered:
- 66% fewer road closures
- £110 million in cost savings
- 96% reduction in carbon emissions, independently verified by Nottingham Trent University
- 30-year performance with zero repairs required to date
