Metrail has completed the waterproofing of Kew and Chiswick Bridge.

Kier Construction Limited won the main contract for upgrading the bridge and awarded the waterproofing works to Metrail.
The bridge is a wide-span bridge over the upper estuary of the Thames linking the London Boroughs of Richmond and Hounslow. The present bridge was opened in 1903 as King Edward VII Bridge.

The works which were completed on programme in June involved applying approximately 900m2 of the specialist Eliminator waterproofing system. Metrail is an approved installation contractor for the Eliminator system supplied by GCP (formerly Stirling Lloyd).

Metrail Managing Director, Martyn Sherwood commented that

“This project extends our track record of waterproofing London’s iconic bridges having previously carried out the waterproofing on Putney Bridge and London Bridge. Also, Rochester Bridge over the River Medway.”
