Metrail’s application for registration for the Considerate Constructor’s Scheme was due to the realisation that many of our clients and main contractors are moving towards their supply chain having CCS registration.
Having recently completed and achieved ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 in October, we feel this is the next step in achieving professional recognition for our high working standards and commitment to continuous improvement.
Applying for registration is a rigorous process evaluating the following values at Metrail:
- Care about Appearance
- Respect the Community
- Protect the Environment
- Care about Safety
- Value their Workforce
This is a nationally recognised scheme recommended by local authorities, the government, main contractors and major industry client, demonstrating our commitment and dedication to raising standards within our industry.
Registration with the CCS can be a steep learning curve but Monitor were satisfied that it was very evident that we could adopt procedures and operate to ensure the Code of Considerate Practice is implemented and that high standards can be achieved.
On the initial review, it was highlighted that many areas have already been identified where there are very positive indications of our forward approach to improving and raising standards such as the company core values, increased trained first aiders and the training matrix, plus extensive measures in place regarding the care about safety for all.
It was also identified that our workforce is clearly highly valued with actions such as appointing an Ambassador for Mental Health and additional M/H training for the first aiders.
We are very proud that Monitor recommended Metrail’s scheme registration without reservation.
