Metrail’s commitment to community engagement on National Highways SDF in Area 7 continues, with Lace City Chorus now two years into our three-year sponsorship launched in 2024. As we rejuvenate infrastructure assets across the region, we’re equally focused on strengthening the communities we serve.
In December 2025 the Chorus returned to the stage with a sparkling Christmas Show, joined by special guests Sing it Bold community gospel choir and The Emerald Guard champion quartet. This followed an exceptional 2024 season in which Lace City placed ninth in the world at the Sweet Adelines International competition in the USA.

The momentum continues this May as the Chorus competes at the UK & Netherlands regional contest at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. They’ll perform a ballad and an uptune – this year arranged by barbershop legend David Wright – with full details to follow.
January also brought an intensive coaching weekend with Valerie Taylor, Director of Vocal Dimension Chorus and a certified Sweet Adelines International Sound Judge. Our support helps fund specialist coaching, extra rehearsals and skills development – building confidence on stage and opportunity off it.
