Metrail has recently taken delivery of a brand new Iveco 18 tonne vehicle specifically modified by specialist supplier Somerford Equipment in Cheshire to meet Metrail requirements for its bridge deck joint installation services.
The acquisition of the vehicle represents a major investment for Metrail and is significant boost to its plans for successful future growth.
The Iveco vehicle is a self-contained unit for a three-man crew to focus on the installation of bridge deck joints on Highways England infrastructure. The vehicle has its own compressor, heating lances, drying machine for operations in inclement weather complete with an integrated boiler for heating materials with the latest safety features.
The vehicle is has already proved it capabilities for Kier on the M23 smart motorway upgrade and on contracts for AOne + and F M Conway.
Further additional investment is being made in the shape of four brand new transit vans to boost the mobility of the workforce and which will be delivered in the next few weeks.
